Director of Cybesecurity & Privacy Cluster, Charles N. Millican Chair Professor in Computer Science University of Central Florida
Dr. Yan Solihin leads the Cybersecurity & Privacy Cluster (10+ faculty members) and directing a diverse research portfolio in cybersecurity and privacy. He also leads the ARPERS Research Group in UCF and NCSU, and his research interests include computer architecture and systems for secure and private computation in the cloud and IoT.
Achievements: As Professor at NCSU and UCF, I supervised and graduated 14 PhDs, 7 Master’s of Science students, and three visiting professors/scholars. Received more than $4 million in research grants from National Science Foundation, Intel, Samsung, IBM, Tekelec, and HP. Papers from my research group ARPERS have received 5,000+ citations, one of them received MICRO Best Paper Runner-Up Award, and three others were Finalist for Best Paper Award. Several of my research innovations have influenced commercial processors, e.g. cache partitioning and quality of service (now in Intel Xeon), DRAM cache (now in Intel Haswell), three different secure execution environment features (now in Intel SGX and AMD Memory Encryption), and TheMachine project at HP Enterprise
